American actress and fashion icon Chloë Sevigny is one of Hollywood's boldest and most gifted actors. Known for her many indie film roles, Sevigny has garnered much critical acclaim since her 1995 debut, most recently a Golden Globe for her performance on HBO's Big Love. Sevigny is also widely revered for her sense of style, and recently launched her fourth collection for the hip NY label Opening Ceremony.
Chloë Sevigny appears
this season as the sex-
obsessed Shelley on FX's American Horror Story. Wednesdays on FX!
“Oh, that’s bullshit!… I think that ‘it wasn’t meant to be’ is bullshit. You’re tested in life, you know? Things aren’t just put in front of you for the taking. You have to go through something to get what you want. You can’t just drift through life and hope that love is just gonna flow into you like plankton into a whale’s f***king mouth. You have to prove yourself. You have to make things happen and choose.”
- Jeanie
Hope everyone caught Chloë Sevigny guest starring as bookstore clerk Jeanie on FX’s Louielast night, despite our heads-up on her appearance having been a little last minute. :) Here’s our recap of the episode, beginning with a quick summary:
Louie (Louis C.K.) has dreams about a Liz (Parker Posey) he once went out with and goes to look for her at the book store she works in, only to find that she has quit. Luckily(?), the shop’s eager new clerk (Chloë Sevigny) is more than ready to help him find her. Later, Louie wonders at his daughter’s crankiness when he picks her up from school.
Personally, I absolutely loved Chloë’s appearance in this episode!! It was such a (mostly) cute and hilarious little role and Chloë was so deliciously good in it. It’s been a while since Chloë last did comedy (there was Barry Munday in 2010 and her occasional comedic moments on Big Love, but her Munday character was really not written to be a “comedy role”, and Big Love wasn’t exactly a comedy, either), and based on last night’s performance, I can’t wait to see her do more. So excited for what she’s gonna do on Portlandia now! :D
The gallery has been updated with 137x 720p HD screen caps of Chloë in the episode. Hope you check ‘em out!
“Because I’m fortunate to have a wonderful family, a comfortable home, some people see me as… privileged. They think that I’m self-centered, that I take things for granted, but that couldn’t be any further from the truth. What you see on that tape is me fighting for my life, and the only thing going through my mind was will I ever see my family again. I did whatever I had to do to survive!”
- Christine Hartwell
Hope everyone was able to tune in to Chloë Sevigny guest starring on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on NBC last Wednesday — if you weren’t, you can catch the episode online on NBC.com. Meanwhile, here’s our summary of the episode, 13.18 “Valentine’s Day”, beginning with a quick recap:
Video chatting from Hong Kong, Christine Hartwell’s (Chloë Sevigny) husband is forced to watch as Christine is brutally raped and kidnapped from their New York home. The police are able to capture her when she is sent by her assailants to pick up the ransom money, but when she is questioned about what happened, her unusual behavior and the holes in her story quickly get the detectives of the SVU suspicious. As the evidence starts to mount up against her it soon becomes clear there’s much more to both Christine and her story than she is telling, and she’s eventually charged with coercion, obstruction and filing a false report. But even as the evidence against Christine begins to look overwhelming the case is anything but open-and-shut when not only does Christine’s blindly devoted husband get her a top defense attorney, Christine secretly manages to befriend one of the jurors.
SVU isn’t one of my favorite shows personally, but I still thoroughly enjoyed seeing Chloë on it. I’ve been waiting for Chloë to land more mainstream roles and productions like this (not to mention just seeing her onscreen again), and she did not disappoint as the seductive and duplicitous Christine.
247 site-exclusive HD screen captures of Chloë’s appearance on the show have been uploaded to the gallery. Enjoy! :)

What a ride. What a conclusion. Hopefully everyone tuned in to the season and series finale of HBO’s Big Love last night. Here’s our last ever Big Love recap, of yesterday’s episode 5.10 “Where Men and Mountains Meet”. Please note that this recap is not spoiler-free and spoilerific discussion is allowed in the comments-section of this post, so if you haven’t seen the episode yet and would like to remain unspoiled, please come back later.
Onto today’s update, beginning with a video of the making of the final scenes of the finale. HBO hasn’t released an actual video recap of the episode yet, but this’ll do just as well. Courtesy of HBO:
Since we don’t have a video recap today, here’s a quick summary of what happened last night — please highlight to read: Following a family dinner, Cara Lynn reveals to Nicki she is thinking of moving back to her “other family”, but is ultimately able to reconnect with her mother. The Henricksons lose Home Plus. Barb reveals she plans to be baptized in her new church, but is later unable to follow through with it without her family there. After a bold move at the state senate to legalize polygamy, Bill receives an unexpected warm welcome from the polygamist community at his new church, where he then experiences a new “heavenly vision”. Frank keeps his promise to the dementia-ridden Lois and ends her life peacefully. In the final moments of the episode, Bill is unexpectedly confronted and gunned down by his neighbor outside his house while the wives are inside preparing the Easter dinner. With his last breath, Bill asks Barb to give him a blessing, and he dies in the arms of his three wives. Eleven months later, it is revealed the wives are still together, with Barb carrying on Bill’s legacy of his church, Cara Lynn still living with Nicki and Margie following his passion for voluntary work. Ben and Heather have also reconciled, while Sarah and Scott are still together and now have a baby.
[Bill: "You risked everything for your daughter. You didn't cause this!"]
“I did…! She’s right. I am horrible! I’m worse than them! I’m worse than any of them!… They didn’t put the shame into her. JJ didn’t. Alby didn’t. My father didn’t. I did. Why would Heavenly Father have allowed that? He has forsaken us! He’s taken his love from us!”

Hope y’all have been tuning in to the last episodes of HBO’s Big Love. Here’s at last our recap of last Sunday’s episode; sorry for the delay, but we unexpectedly ran out of space this weekend and weren’t able to get that sorted until now. Anyway, onto today’s update, beginning with the HBO video recap of last Sunday’s episode 5.09 “Exorcism” from the HBO website:
So as always, any thoughts on the episode? Personally, Chloë Sevigny owned this one with her portrayal of Nicki. Nicki and Cara Lynn had a couple of absolutely heartbreaking but at the same time riveting moments in this episode, as did all the wives in their wives’ meeting in the early minutes of the show; my second favorite scene. To me the best scene last Sunday, though, was Nicki confronting Cara Lynn in her bedroom. After the show, I read a lot of comments online about how bad it was of Nicki to say those things to her daughter and how she was really talking about herself and not Cara Lynn. But although I don’t really disagree with that, I do think Nicki had a point; Cara Lynn is “a little manipulator,” as she’s admitted herself. The problem was the way it came out was like an older child blasting a younger, not a mother scolding a daughter; there was no motherly “guidance”, only blame. It’s a powerful scene.
But then Chloë was in fact really terrific throughout. Her expressions and movements were just spot-on hilarious e.g. when she noticed the boys were eyeing something going on outside the house while they were performing Margie’s song. Priceless and brilliant. I’m really going to miss Nicki and her mischievousness.
Media-wise, we’ve updated the gallery with 294 HD screen captures of Chloë as Nicki in the episode, as well as 10 site-exclusivevideo clips. So, this is it. The season and series finale is today. :,( Do not miss it.
“You do have a choice. You do, Alby. Remember that early spring when papa wouldn’t let us go swimming because it was too cold? We went anyway, and I waded in too deep and the current swept me away. But you ran in and pulled me out. Do you remember?… Same blood runs through our veins and always will. I’m the one person who understands you!…”

As always, hope y’all were able to tune in last night to the new episode of Big Love. The HBO video recap of episode 5.08 “The Noose Tightens” from the HBO website:
So as always, any thoughts on the new episode? First off, a Chloë Sevigny fan though I am, can I just say: Ginnifer Goodwin – wow!! She really showed a whole new side to Margene in this episode, and I loved every second of it.
On another note, I know this season was promoted with promises that Alby would eventually go off his rocker, but little did I know just how literally they meant it. Sure enough, Nicki (especially as his sister) pushed the wrong button bringing up Dale, but I think what happened in this episode finally showed there was never any negotiating with Alby anyway. I’m surprised how quickly the episode dealt with Margie’s “cult idea”, though; there would’ve definitely been more material to cover there. But I guess with only two episodes left there just wasn’t any time to go into it more.
Media-wise, we’ve updated the gallery with 239 HD screen captures of Chloë as Nicki in the episode, as well as 9 site-exclusivevideo clips. Hope you check back with us again next week for coverage from this Sunday’s episode. Only two more to go!…

As always, hope everyone was able to tune in last Sunday to the seventh Season 5 episode of Big Love. Here is the HBO video recap of episode 5.07 “Til Death Do Us Part” from the HBO website:
So what did you think of the new episode? Personally, this was probably my favorite Season 5 episode yet, certainly a huge step forward from last week. Chloë played this episode brilliantly, there were just so many beautiful moments (the one Nicki had with Barb just before the ceremony being my favorite; I really thought they connected on some level in this episode for the first time in ages), and although the Henricksons’ situation still remains a bit too complicated for my liking, this episode made some terrific, unexpected turnarounds just when you thought you had it figured. But even though the ending of last Sunday’s episode definitely seemed like a clear indication of what’s to come in the series’ remaining episodes, it probably actually raised more questions than it answered (one that particularly struck me was, if Bill ends up facing charges of statutory rape, what will happen to Nicki and Bill’s plans to legally adopt Cara Lynn — the whole purpose of Nicki and Bill’s legal marriage?). I predict a pretty momentous end of season…

As always, hope everyone was able to tune in last Sunday to the sixth Season 5 episode of Big Love. Here is the HBO video recap of episode 5.06 “D.I.V.O.R.C.E.” from the HBO website:
So what did you think of the new episode? Personally, this wasn’t one of my favorite episodes this season. Although Bill in particular had some terrific moments (and I also loved seeing Lois and Frank come together peacefully at last, not to mention seeing Nicki have that beautiful little moment with Cara Lynn), overall I felt a lot of the character relationships just got too complicated in this episode. Cara Lynn’s story with her teacher in particular not only feels far-fetched (in this particular situation), but bodes a similar over-the-top climax as Nicki and her mother had with J.J. & co. over his medical meddling. (I love the name of the new church, though. “The New Assembly of Mormon Pioneers”.)
Media-wise, though, we’ve updated the gallery today with 193 HD screen captures of Chloë Sevigny as Nicki in the episode, as well as 6 site-exclusivevideo clips. As always, hope y’all remembered to tune in last weekend to the fifth Season 5 episode of Big Love. Here is the HBO video recap of episode 5.05 “The Special Relationship” from the HBO website:
So what did you think of last Sunday’s episode? Personally, I definitely think the show took a more serious turn last Sunday. Don really took another serious blow for Bill, and the incident finally showed the extent to which Alby is willing to go to bring down the Henricksons. Nicki still seems the most comfortable in the current situation, but with Bill and Barb’s marital rift the entire family could be shaken and torn apart, and I don’t think even Nicki is quite as immune to that as she may appear. None of this bodes good things for the family, certainly not for the next couple of episodes…
Media-wise, though, we’ve updated the gallery today with 215 HD screen captures of Chloë Sevigny as Nicki in the episode, as well as 7 site-exclusivevideo clips. As always, hope y’all remembered to tune in last night to the fourth Season 5 episode of Big Love. Here is the HBO video recap of episode 5.04 “The Oath” from the HBO website:
So what did you think of the newest episode? Personally, I really liked seeing Bill finally getting some of what’s been coming to him, even though he generally is a likable character. Chloë Sevigny was particularly strong in her scene with Alby and Adaleen (I really liked how Nicki stood up so sternly to her brother), and in fact everyone really turned in great performances last night. I do feel that Nicki’s taken a bit of a backseat drama-wise this season compared to the other wives (even though Chloë’s been brilliant throughout, and had some particularly terrific moments last night — “That’s not true. I desperately wanted to go!”, “… We do?” not to mention, “Please don’t talk to me! You hate me. I don’t want to talk to someone who hates me.” And did you see the way she looked at Barb’s sister Cindy? Priceless. :,D ), but at the same time it’s actually really great to finally see Jeanne Tripplehorn and Ginnifer Goodwin shine in that department as well. And the ending of last night’s episode was just brilliant, boding interesting things for the remainder of the season… (I miss Ray Henry, though.)
Anyway, media-wise, we’ve updated the gallery today with 286 HD screen captures of Chloë as Nicki in the episode, as well as 10 site-exclusivevideo clips. Hope y’all remembered to tune in last Sunday to the third Season 5 episode of Big Love. As always, here is the HBO video recap of episode 5.03 “Certain Poor Shepherds” from the HBO website:
So how was this week’s episode for you? Personally, I really thought this episode had some great moments; the ice skating scene was rather nice, and I really enjoyed seeing Nicki and Cara Lynn connect, even if it was on such an unfortunate subject. Overall, I’ve been really happy with where the show’s been going this season; compared to last season’s rather over-the-top twists, this season has focused much more on Bill and the wives as people, and I think the writers have done a pretty good job of tying up some of last season’s craziest storylines. The recent developments around Lois are a great addition to the story as well; her illness is an unwelcome additional burden for Bill yet not one unique to him or polygamy.
Anyway, media-wise, we’ve updated the gallery with 288 HD screen captures of Chloë as Nicki in the episode, as well as 8 site-exclusivevideo clips.
