New projects! According to Collider’s recent interview with Chloë Sevigny, Chloë will be making a one-off appearance in the upcoming British comedy series Doll & Em as well as appearing in a small role in the upcoming indie movie Electric Slide.

Do you know what’s next for you?
SEVIGNY: Well, I just did Portlandia, which is a show I love. I’m doing this show, called Doll & Em, for Sky in the U.K., that’s a comedy for Emily Mortimer that she wrote with her friend, Dolly Wells. That’s just a one episode thing. And I did Louie, for one episode. I’m doing a small part in this indie movie, called Electric Slide, with Jim Sturgess. And I’m just trying to find the next thing.

More details on both as we get them!

Collider has a terrific interview with Chloë Sevigny about her recent work on FX’s American Horror Story. Chloe Sevigny Talks AMERICAN HORROR STORY: ASYLUM, What Attracted Her to the Role, Working with Jessica Lange and Possibly Returning for Season 3
by Christina Radish

Set in 1964, the FX drama series American Horror Story: Asylum takes viewers into Briarcliff, a haven for the criminally insane, ruled with an iron fist by Sister Jude (Jessica Lange), a nun with a troubled past. Inside this locked down facility, danger lurks around every corner, whether it’s a doctor who loves to torture, flesh eating creatures in the forest, alien experimentation or the serial killer Bloody Face, and no one is safe.

During this recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, actress Chloe Sevigny, who plays the resident nymphomaniac, talked about how exciting it is to be a part of event television, what a big fan she was of Season 1, what attracted her to the role, how she’s more frightened by realistic violence than straight out gore, how amazing it was to work with Jessica Lange, just how much crazier things will get this season, and how she’d love to return for Season 3. She also talked about her work on the TV series Hit & Miss, playing such unexpected roles, dabbling in comedy, and her desire to do a sweeping romantic period drama. Check out what she had to say after the jump.

Collider: Before the season premiered, it was already a trending topic on Twitter, proving that it’s more like event television than just a TV show now. Is it exciting to be a part of something like this, where people are so eager to talk about it?
CHLOE SEVIGNY: Yeah! When I heard the numbers, I was like, “Wow!” I’m flattered to be a part of it and excited, of course. I was on Big Love for five years and we had our fans, but it didn’t feel like it was a crazy event thing. There wasn’t a frenzy surrounding it. People weren’t having viewing parties, like I’m hearing they are for American Horror Story. So, yeah, it’s super exciting! I just hope people enjoy it and are frightened.

Big news! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chloë Sevigny has nabbed a lead role in the upcoming A&E crime/drama pilot Those Who Kill.

Based on the Danish series Den Som Dræber, the pilot from writer Glen Morgan (The X-Files) revolves around a police detective and a forensic profiler who possess a deep understanding of the serial killers they hunt. Sevigny will play Catherine, who’s described as a detective driven by an old anger or sadness who has become a workaholic and doesn’t have much of a social life outside of work. She cares deeply about the victims and has a strong sense of justice.

From Fox 21, Morgan developed the adaptation of Elsebeth Egholm and Stefan Jaworski’s series with Imagine Television. He will executive produce alongside Jonas Allen, Peter Bose and Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo. Joe Carnahan will direct the pilot.

Those Who Kill comes as A&E continues to make a big push into original scripted programming with efforts including the Psycho prequel Bates Motel from Carlton Cuse and starring Vera Farmiga. The network recently renewed freshman drama Longmire and ordered Bates straight to series, bypassing the typical pilot process.

The pilot will shoot this fall in Pittsburgh.

Find the series’ IMDB-page here.

What do you think? Personally, I’m super-excited for this. This project will mark a whole new turn for Chloë character-wise, and as a big fan of A&E’s Longmire I’m absolutely confident that if the network picks it up it’s going to be a quality show. Fingers crossed!!

Exciting news!! According to an exclusive report from Entertainment Weekly, Chloë Sevigny will be joining the cast of the Peabody Award-winning IFC comedy Portlandia for the show’s upcoming third season.

Fred and Carrie are getting a new roommate.

Academy Award nominee Chloe Sevigny is joining the cast of Portlandia for the hipster comedy’s third season. The Big Love alum will play Alexandra, a Portlandite who moves in with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein’s characters (who, naturally, are named Fred and Carrie).

Sevigny follows in the footsteps of actors like Jeff Goldblum, Kristen Wiig, and Tim Robbins, all of whom appeared in Portlandia‘s second season. Kyle MacLachlan will reprise his role as the mayor of Portland in Season 3 as well.

For whatever reason, EW has removed the original article from their website for the time being, but we presume this is still a credible report.

Update Aug 22: The article is now back online on the EW website, confirming Chloë’s casting on the show.

Portlandia stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. Season 3 is currently filming in Portland, Oregon and is expected to premiere January 2013 on IFC.

TV Guide has a brief but interesting little article on Chloë Sevigny discussing her upcoming (recurring guest?) role on FX’s American Horror Story. From TV Guide:

From her Oscar-nominated role in Boys Don’t Cry to her recent guest shot on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Chloë Sevigny is no stranger to sexually charged material — and that’s not about to change. She’ll soon be seen as a transgendered hit man/woman in the British miniseries Hit & Miss (debuting on DirecTV July 11), and she’ll follow that up with a recurring gig as a nymphomaniac on Season 2 of FX’s explicit American Horror Story.

“It’s a great show — what am I going to say, I’m not going to do it because it’s another sexually provocative thing?” the Big Love alum tells TV Guide Magazine exclusively. “I can’t turn down good work because of that.”

And she’ll be in good company: Among the staffers at a 1960′s East Coast mental hospital treating (or mistreating, as the case may be) her character is Golden Globe winner Jessica Lange, who previously worked with Sevigny on the Jim Jarmusch film Broken Flowers. As for the role of her doctor, “I hear they’re looking at a couple of big names,” says Sevigny. “They were talking about Ian McShane. I shouldn’t say this, but I’m kinda hoping they get him because I’m a big fan.”

Sounds like the talks have been finalized and Chloë is in! :)

Big news! Entertainment Weekly exclusively reports Chloë Sevigny is in final talks to join the upcoming second season of the hit FX series American Horror Story. The full story from EW.com:

Season 2 of the FX hit American Horror Story is shaping up to be even wilder than season 1. Case in point: EW has learned exclusively that Big Love‘s Chloe Sevigny is in final talks to join the second season, set to begin production this summer. Sevigny will play a character named Shelly the Nymphomaniac, who is one of the mortal enemies of Jessica Lange’s character. Basically, prepare yourself for Lange vs. Sevigny! The writers and producers of AHS were such fans of Sevigny that they wrote the part with her in mind.

The actress will join Lange, Zachary Quinto, Adam Levine, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Lily Rabe in the new season, which Murphy has revealed will be set in an East Coast institution for the criminally insane run by Lange’s character.

This is fantastic news. AHS was a big hit in its debut season, and we can’t wait to see Chloë back on weekly television. Congrats on the role, Chloë!

We Got This Covered reports Chloë Sevigny will be appearing opposite Olivia Wilde, Logan Marshall-Green, Whoopi Goldberg and Vince Jolivette in James Franco’s Black Dog, Red Dog. Franco will also be appearing in the film, which will be comprised of a series of short films directed by students in Franco’s NYU class. Filming is currently ongoing in New York.

James Franco is once again reeling in the big guns for a film that he’s working on with his NYU class. Thanks to recent casting calls, we now know that Olivia Wilde, Chloe Sevigny, Logan Marshall-Green, Whoopi Goldberg and Vince Jolivette will be joining Franco in his next film, Black Dog, Red Dog.  Furthermore, The Mercury Report is reporting Tim Blake Nelson, who stared in Franco’s Child Of God, will also be part of the film.

Black Dog, Red Dog is based on poet Stephen Dobyns’ book that focuses on his life from the 1950′s to 1980′s. The film will be feature length though it will be made up of a series of short films directed by Franco’s students.

Black Dog, Red Dog is currently filming in New York until the end of the month and both Black Dog, Red Dog and Tar are expected to be released later this year.

StyleCaster reports Chloë Sevigny is considering doing another unisex line for Opening Ceremony. More from StyleCaster:

“…We’re maybe thinking about doing pre-fall, another kind of unisex, boys and girls line, so we’re talking about that right now,” said Chloë. You might remember that back for the fall/winter 2009 season, this Party Monster‘s second-ever OC collection consisted of a unisex menswear line, wearable for gals too.

More recently, the Chloë Sevigny x Opening Ceremony x Vision Street Wear which came out just a short while ago also featured a handful of unisex styles, perfect for those looking to rock a ’90s skate wear vibe.

When asked about what trends the collection might be leaning towards to, Chloë responded with an honest response saying that she hadn’t started thinking about it yet, bursting into an understandable giggle by saying that she thinks she’s been kind of avoiding it (we can only imagine the amount of effort that goes behind each well-thought set of her drool-worthy duds).

“I have to get triggered. Maybe tonight, on the catwalk, I’ll be triggered with some sort of inspiration.”

Wow! Exciting news! TVGuide.com reports Chloë Sevigny will be appearing in an upcoming episode of NBC’s hit police procedural Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Details from TVGuide:

Former Big Love star Chloe Sevigny is returning to TV with a guest role on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Sources tell us that Sevigny will play a stay-at-home mom who is attacked and kidnapped while video-chatting with her husband, who’s halfway around the world. She is slated to start shooting the episode next week. NBC declined to comment on the casting.

The role would mark Chloë’s first guest appearance on a fictional TV show since her 2004 guest role on Will & Grace, and her second guest role ever. It’ll be great to see her in a more mainstream production again. Very exciting! :D

Update Feb 17: Yes! NBC has confirmed Chloë’s appearance on the show through a press release on their website. According to the press release, Chloë will appear in the episode “Valentine’s Day” which will air later in the show’s ongoing 13th season.

More casting news! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chloë Sevigny has joined the cast of the Linda Lovelace biopic Lovelace. Big Love‘s Amanda Seyfried appears in the title role. More from THR:

Chloë Sevigny has joined the cast of Lovelace, the biopic of one of the most famous adult film actresses of all time, Linda Lovelace. The casting comes a day after Demi Moore dropped out of the film due to her “seeking professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health,” according to her reps.

Lovelace sees Amanda Seyfried as the woman who starred in one of the most famous pornographic movies of all time, Deep Throat. The ensemble cast includes Peter Sarsgaard, Hank Azaria, Adam Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Debi Mazar, Wes Bentley, Romeo Brown, Robert Patrick, Eric Roberts. James Franco is making a cameo as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.

Sevigny will play a feminist journalist on freelance assignment for a men’s magazine to find out who the real Linda Lovelace is. The production began shooting in Los Angeles on December 20, 2011 with Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman behind the camera.

That’s another terrific production in the bag. Congrats, Chloë! :D
