TVGuide.com has another terrific new interview with Chloë Sevigny, in which Chloë talks about, among other things, working on the Hit & Miss miniseries, her recent guest role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and her upcoming recurring role on FX’s American Horror Story Season 2. Full article on TVGuide.com or under the cut.

Chloë Sevigny Transitions to the U.K. Miniseries Hit & Miss
by Bruce Fretts

From her Oscar-nominated performance in the transgender-themed true-crime story Boys Don’t Cry to her stint as a “sister-wife” on HBO’s Big Love, Chloë Sevigny has never shied away from provocative roles. Her work as an Irish contract killer who’s in transition from male to female in the six-part British series Hit & Miss (airing on DirecTV’s Audience Network) may be her most controversial turn yet. Not that she planned it that way. “This fell into my lap,” says the actress. “And it’s such a juicy part.” Here, she discusses Hit & Miss as well as gigs on Law & Order: SVU and American Horror Story.

TV Guide Magazine: When Hit & Miss producers asked you to play a transgender assassin, were you taken aback? Or did you take it as a compliment?
Sevigny: A little of both. I always thought I looked a bit masculine. But I think they picked me because of my range, without paying myself any compliments.

TV Guide Magazine: Which was harder — learning the Irish accent or wearing the prosthetic penis?
Sevigny: Learning the accent was harder, with more work, time-wise. Wearing the penis was harder emotionally.

TV Guide Magazine: It’s been reported that you cried every day on the set. Is that true?
Sevigny: Not every day, but every time I wore it. It was seven separate days of filming.

TV Guide Magazine: Why was it so upsetting?
Sevigny: Putting it on took two hours. I shaved myself and they had to glue it on, paint it and pull away the skin to make it seamless. It’s a tedious process, and it’s hard having someone so close to your private parts for an extended period of time who you’re not having sex with. And having it on and looking at yourself is oddly disturbing. I felt like a freak. A lot of transgender people feel like this shouldn’t be part of their body, and so I guess it was a good thing. I reacted the way my character would.

“Because I’m fortunate to have a wonderful family, a comfortable home, some people see me as… privileged. They think that I’m self-centered, that I take things for granted, but that couldn’t be any further from the truth. What you see on that tape is me fighting for my life, and the only thing going through my mind was will I ever see my family again. I did whatever I had to do to survive!”
- Christine Hartwell

Hope everyone was able to tune in to Chloë Sevigny guest starring on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on NBC last Wednesday — if you weren’t, you can catch the episode online on NBC.com. Meanwhile, here’s our summary of the episode, 13.18 “Valentine’s Day”, beginning with a quick recap:

Video chatting from Hong Kong, Christine Hartwell’s (Chloë Sevigny) husband is forced to watch as Christine is brutally raped and kidnapped from their New York home. The police are able to capture her when she is sent by her assailants to pick up the ransom money, but when she is questioned about what happened, her unusual behavior and the holes in her story quickly get the detectives of the SVU suspicious. As the evidence starts to mount up against her it soon becomes clear there’s much more to both Christine and her story than she is telling, and she’s eventually charged with coercion, obstruction and filing a false report. But even as the evidence against Christine begins to look overwhelming the case is anything but open-and-shut when not only does Christine’s blindly devoted husband get her a top defense attorney, Christine secretly manages to befriend one of the jurors.

SVU isn’t one of my favorite shows personally, but I still thoroughly enjoyed seeing Chloë on it. I’ve been waiting for Chloë to land more mainstream roles and productions like this (not to mention just seeing her onscreen again), and she did not disappoint as the seductive and duplicitous Christine.

247 site-exclusive HD screen captures of Chloë’s appearance on the show have been uploaded to the gallery. Enjoy! :)

Wow! Exciting news! TVGuide.com reports Chloë Sevigny will be appearing in an upcoming episode of NBC’s hit police procedural Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Details from TVGuide:

Former Big Love star Chloe Sevigny is returning to TV with a guest role on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Sources tell us that Sevigny will play a stay-at-home mom who is attacked and kidnapped while video-chatting with her husband, who’s halfway around the world. She is slated to start shooting the episode next week. NBC declined to comment on the casting.

The role would mark Chloë’s first guest appearance on a fictional TV show since her 2004 guest role on Will & Grace, and her second guest role ever. It’ll be great to see her in a more mainstream production again. Very exciting! :D

Update Feb 17: Yes! NBC has confirmed Chloë’s appearance on the show through a press release on their website. According to the press release, Chloë will appear in the episode “Valentine’s Day” which will air later in the show’s ongoing 13th season.
