Two important reminders for you today!

First off, don’t forget to check out Chloë Sevigny in her Golden Globe-nominated role of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant in the critically acclaimed HBO polygamist drama series, Big Love, when the season’s second episode, 4.02 “The Greater Good”, airs tonight at 9 PM on HBO. Speaking of the Golden Globes, don’t forget to also tune in today to the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards, where Chloë Sevigny is nominated for Best Supporting Actress (Television) for her unparalleled portrayal of Nicki last season. Yeeeeeeesss! Earlier today, the nominees for the 2010 Golden Globes were announced — and Big Love is nominated in three categories! More importantly, Chloë Sevigny has been nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant on the show! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeesssss! Not to sound overly excited, but… yeeeeeeeeeesss! Congratulations on the well-deserved nomination, Chloë!

Yesterday, September 20, the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards were held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, where the critically acclaimed HBO series Big Love was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, and Chloë Sevigny was there in support of the series, looking as amazing as ever in a white polka dot gown. Unfortunately, Big Love did not win the category it was nominated in. The award for Outstanding Drama Series went to Mad Men. Bummer.

Great news, y’all! According to AOL Television, HBO’s polygamist drama series Big Love has been nominated for this year’s Best Drama Series Emmy! The show is up against Damages, House, Lost, Mad Men and Dexter. Unfortunately, none of the series’ main cast, Chloë Sevigny included, were nominated.

It’s that time of the year again, I guess, when predictions regarding Emmy nominees and winners begin surfacing online. Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly has picked his favorite nominees for Best Supporting Actress (Drama) — guess who he’d like to see nominated?:

Chloë Sevigny (Big Love): The sneakier her character got, the more I wanted to give her a hug. Oh, and an Emmy!

Ausiello also recommends Chloë’s Big Love co-star Ginnifer Goodwin for an Emmy nomination.

Now, seriously, people… Chloë’s portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant has “Emmy-worthy” written all over it. I’m just sayin’.

As Britney Spears once so aptly put it, “Oops, I did it again!” Sigh. This year’s Primetime Emmy nominees have been announced, and despite some favorable predictions, the excellent regular cast of Big Love have been granted zip. Once again, Chloë’s unparalleled portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant has been wrongfully ignored, and quite frankly I’m rather annoyed (not to mention disappointed) — can you tell?

All in all, Big Love received only one nomination; Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series, for Ellen Burstyn’s portrayal of Nancy Dutton. The full list of nominees is available at Emmys.tv. You may post your sighs under this update, and then we can all sigh in unison.

The Los Angeles Times recently revealed their this year’s prospective winners for an acting Emmy, and it delights me to announce Chloë Sevigny is among their favorite picks as the winner in the Best Actress (Drama) category for her portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant in HBO’s critically acclaimed polygamist drama series, Big Love.

Nicki’s two sister wives, as portrayed by Jeanne Tripplehorn and Ginnifer Goodwin, were named as possible, albeit not favorite, picks for the same award, while Bill Paxton was named as a favorite in the Best Actor (Drama) category. Other Big Love cast mentioned were Bruce Dern (Best Supporting Actor, Drama; possible pick), Harry Dean Stanton (Best Supporting Actor, Drama; longshot pick), Mary Kay Place (Best Supporting Actress, Drama; possible pick) and Grace Zabriskie (Best Supporting Actress, Drama; longshot pick). The winners of the 34th Annual Saturn Awards have been announced. Unfortunately, Zodiac did not win the award for Best Action/Adventure/Thriller Film which the movie was nominated for. The award went to Zack Snyder’s 300.

I just got word that David Fincher’s (excellent!) crime drama Zodiac, which recently premiered on Region 1 DVD as a Director’s Cut Edition, has been nominated for three awards at the 2008 Sony Ericsson Empire Awards! Although Chloë was not nominated for her portrayal of Melanie Graysmith, the film was nevertheless prominently recognized in the film and directing categories. From EmpireOnline.com:

No Golden Globe for ‘Big Love’

The 2008 Golden Globes have been announced, and unfortunately it would seem Big Love was left without an award. The series was nominated for Best Drama Series and Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series; the awards, however, went to Mad Men and the series’ lead John Hamm.

The Golden Globes were announced yesterday in a press conference, interestingly enough – there was no red carpet event or gala due to the WGA writers’ strike generating an evidently insurmountable lack of participants. Visit the Golden Globes official site for all of the 2008 nominees and winners.
