American actress and fashion icon Chloë Sevigny is one of Hollywood's boldest and most gifted actors. Known for her many indie film roles, Sevigny has garnered much critical acclaim since her 1995 debut, most recently a Golden Globe for her performance on HBO's Big Love. Sevigny is also widely revered for her sense of style, and recently launched her fourth collection for the hip NY label Opening Ceremony.
Chloë Sevigny stars
as the transgender
assassin Mia in the upcoming
British miniseries Hit and Miss.
Coming May 2012 to Sky Atlantic.
The 2011 Prime Time Emmy Award nominees were announced yesterday. Unfortunately, Big Love garnered only one nomination this year, but congratulations to Bruce Dern for his well-deserved nomination for Best Guest Actor in Drama for his portrayal of Bill’s father Frank Harlow!
Just a couple of small but interesting new things today.
First off, Chloë Sevigny has been spotted filming the Hit and Miss miniseries in the Spinningfields area in Manchester, UK this past week, and the gallery has been updated with a first pic of Chloë as Mia on set outside the Australasia restaurant in Spinningfields on June 27. If you have any information on Chloë filming in Manchester or pics, please send them our way at contact[@]chloe-sevigny.org. Thank you!
Secondly, Chloë and HBO’s Big Love are nominated at the Gold Derby Awards. Please vote for the show in the following categories:
• Drama Actor: Bill Paxton
• Drama Actress: Jeanne Tripplehorn
• Drama Series:Big Love
• Drama Supporting Actress: Chloë Sevigny
• Drama Supporting Actress: Ginnifer Goodwin
Unfortunately, Chloë Sevigny was not a winner at the inaugural Critics’ Choice Television Awards in Los Angeles, California last night. The award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, for which Chloë was nominated for her portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant in the fifth and final season of HBO’s Big Love, went jointly to Mad Men‘s Christina Hendricks and Justified‘s Margo Martindale. She is currently in Manchester, UK filming the Hit and Miss miniseries and did not appear at the event.
Chloë Sevigny has been nominated for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress (Drama) for her portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant in the critically acclaimed HBO series Big Love. The show concluded its fifth and final season earlier this year. Chloë is the only actor from the series to have landed a nomination.
All the nominees for Best Supporting Actress (Drama) from Entertainment Alley:
Best Supporting Actress (Drama)
- Michelle Forbes, The Killing
- Christina Hendricks, Mad Men
- Margo Martindale, Justified
- Kelly Macdonald, Boardwalk Empire
- Archie Panjabi, The Good Wife
- Chloë Sevigny, Big Love
The 1st Annual Critics Choice Television Awards will be streamed LIVE exclusively on VH1.com on June 20 at 3:00pm CT/4:00pm ET from the Beverly Hills Hotel. ReelzChannel will broadcast the show on June 22 at 7:00pm CT/8:00p ET, rebroadcasting it throughout the week.
Big congrats to Chloë for the well-deserved nomination!
As many of those interested will surely know, the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out to their respective winners last night. Unfortunately, Big Love won neither Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series nor Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for which the show was nominated, nor did any of the cast members attend the award show itself. So a bummer all around.
It’s not all bad news, however, as Big Love stars Chloë Sevigny and Bill Paxton did appear at the Emmys HBO After Party later that evening, a couple of pictures of which have been uploaded to the gallery. Here’s also a video clip from the event with a glimpse of Chloë:
Update Aug 31: More than 50 new medium- and hi-res photo additions from this event have been uploaded to the gallery. Chloë wore a leopard-print Lanvin Pre-Fall 2010 dress paired with black Christian Louboutin booties.
The 2010 Primetime Emmy nominations have been revealed; unfortunately Chloë Sevigny is not among them. Despite having won a Golden Globe for her last year’s portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant on HBO’s Big Love earlier this year, Chloë was not able to land an Emmy nomination this year either, nor were the other acclaimed regular cast members of the show.
Big Love, the series itself, on the other hand, was able to nab a couple of noms, and is up for an Emmy in the following categories; from Emmys.com:
Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series
• Big Love (HBO)
• Dexter (Showtime)
• Friday Night Lights (DirecTV)
• The Good Wife (CBS)
• Mad Men (AMC)
• True Blood (HBO)
Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series
• Big Love, “The Mighty And The Strong” – Mary Kay Place as Adaleen Grant
• Big Love, “End Of Days” – Sissy Spacek as Marilyn Densham
• The Cleaner, “Does Everybody Have A Drink?” – Shirley Jones as Lola Zellman
• Damages, “Your Secrets Are Safe” – Lily Tomlin as Marilyn Tobin
• Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, “Bedtime” – Ann-Margret as Rita Wills
• Lost, “The End” – Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet Burke
Congratulations to Mary Kay Place and Sissy Spacek for their well-deserved nominations! Anyone else feel like using the word ‘snub’ with emphasis regarding Chloë, though? Again. How very boring.
Media, media! Hope you’ve been checking out all the recent additions we’ve been making to our various Golden Globes albums at our gallery throughout yesterday. We’ve made a lot of new additions today, so be sure to have a look at those as well.
Today, we also have two video clips of Chloë Sevigny at the event. First, we have the acceptance speech now available at our media archive, since it is no longer available for viewing on YouTube. (Please remember to register and/or log in for access to our video clip collection.) We furthermore have a second clip from the Golden Globes press room, where Chloë, holding her newly won award, answered various questions from the media. Be sure to check out both!
As most of you will know, last Sunday Chloë took home the Best Supporting Actress (Television) Golden Globe for her portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant on the critically acclaimed HBO drama series, Big Love. Check out our original update on the fantastic news for more information. Congrats, Chloë!
More photos! After the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony and a quick change of clothing, Chloë Sevigny was spotted at the Golden Globes HBO After Party in a new, black Christian Lacroix dress. (Whether the change of outfit was planned or a result of Chloë accidentally ripping the lilac Valentino dress as she walked up to accept her award, we don’t know.) We’ve uploaded the first six photos of Chloë embracing her award at the event to our gallery. Have a look!
As most of you will know by now, Chloë Sevigny accepted the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress (Television) at the event, for her portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant on the critically acclaimed HBO polygamist drama series, Big Love. Read more about it in our original update on this fantastic news.
Big, big congratulations to Chloë Sevigny for holding up the Big Love flag and winning the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant on the show!! A well-deserved award, we think.
Also in contention for the award were Jane Adams (Hung, HBO), Rose Byrne (Damages, FX NETWORK), Jane Lynch, (Glee, FOX) and Janet McTeer (Into The Storm, HBO), however it was Chloë (or Chloï, as they misspelled her name) Sevigny who took home the award, as presented to her by actors Chace Crawford and Kristen Bell. We’re so happy for you, Chloë! It’s fantastic!
Meanwhile, Big Love and Bill Paxton lost to Mad Men and Michael C. Hall from Dexter in their respective categories.
Chloë’s acceptance speech was very composed, though she was clearly very excited about her win (and was dressed for the occasion). She also suspected she may have ripped her dress walking up onto the stage! Check out a clip of the speech below Unfortunately, Chloë’s acceptance speech is currently not available for viewing on YouTube and cannot therefore be embedded, but you can check out a LQ streaming version of it at e.g. Jezebel.com.
Our transcript of Chloë’s entire acceptance speech:
The show has now started, and the first pictures are beginning to stream in from the red carpet event. As expected, Golden Globe-nominee Chloë Sevigny is in attendance, and looks absolutely stunning(!!) in a ruffled, lilac Valentino dress. We’ll be adding new photos throughout the night, but meanwhile check out the first pictures at out gallery! Lovely, no?
Of course, we’re all hoping for a big night for Big Love! Chloë, as most of you will know, is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant on the show.
Unfortunately for Big Love, Bill Paxton just lost Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series to Michael C. Hall from Dexter. But we still have Chloë’s nom + Best Television Series (Drama) ahead of us! Fingers crossed, you guys!
Update:Big Love just lost Best Television Series (Drama) to Mad Men. Chloë’s category still coming up, though!
Update 2: Chloë Sevigny WINS Golden Globe! Congratulations on the well-deserved win!!
