Chloë Sevigny appears in Pussy Riot music video “Police State”

The Russian feminist punk rock and protest group Pussy Riot have released a music video called “Police State” featuring Chloë Sevigny. More via Pitchfork:

Directed by Matt Creed, the video stars Chloë Sevigny as a baton-weilding riot police officer in a dystopian society. In a statement, the group’s Nadya Tolokonnikova criticizes “autocratic, conservative, right-wing leaders” who are “spreading around the world like a sexually transmitted disease.” She goes on, “Soviet dissidents were fighting against one of the most oppressive governments on the planet and shared their own D.I.Y. magazines (samizdat) via secret networks. Labor union leaders and civil rights activists were dying for their beliefs in the U.S. And it actually did make our world a better place.”

“Police State” was produced by Pussy Riot’s frequent collaborator Ricky Reed.
