American actress and fashion icon Chloë Sevigny is one of Hollywood's boldest and most gifted actors. Twisted doesn’t even begin to describe the corkscrew of a plot that encompasses season 2 of AHS, set to premiere Oct. 17 at 10 p.m. “We are going Ryan Murphy-style all the way to the crazy house,” says [Sarah] Paulson, referencing the show’s co-creator. Adds Chloë Sevigny (Big Love), who plays sex-obsessed inmate Shelley, “When I read [the scripts] I was like, ‘This is nuts.’ Then when we did the table read, and we read it aloud, there was something more grounded about it. But it’s provocative, and that makes it fun to watch.”

The Big Love veteran plays nymphomaniac inmate Shelley. Little else is known about the character, but the actress promises season 2 will be just as fun and crazy as the first. Emphasis on the crazy, of course.

Hope everyone caught Chloë Sevigny guest starring as bookstore clerk Jeanie on FX’s Louielast night, despite our heads-up on her appearance having been a little last minute. :) Here’s our recap of the episode, beginning with a quick summary:
Louie (Louis C.K.) has dreams about a Liz (Parker Posey) he once went out with and goes to look for her at the book store she works in, only to find that she has quit. Luckily(?), the shop’s eager new clerk (Chloë Sevigny) is more than ready to help him find her. Later, Louie wonders at his daughter’s crankiness when he picks her up from school.
Personally, I absolutely loved Chloë’s appearance in this episode!! It was such a (mostly) cute and hilarious little role and Chloë was so deliciously good in it. It’s been a while since Chloë last did comedy (there was Barry Munday in 2010 and her occasional comedic moments on Big Love, but her Munday character was really not written to be a “comedy role”, and Big Love wasn’t exactly a comedy, either), and based on last night’s performance, I can’t wait to see her do more. So excited for what she’s gonna do on Portlandia now! :D

Academy Award nominee Chloe Sevigny is joining the cast of Portlandia for the hipster comedy’s third season. The Big Love alum will play Alexandra, a Portlandite who moves in with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein’s characters (who, naturally, are named Fred and Carrie).
Sevigny follows in the footsteps of actors like Jeff Goldblum, Kristen Wiig, and Tim Robbins, all of whom appeared in Portlandia‘s second season. Kyle MacLachlan will reprise his role as the mayor of Portland in Season 3 as well.
For whatever reason, EW has removed the original article from their website for the time being, but we presume this is still a credible report.
Update Aug 22: The article is now back online on the EW website, confirming Chloë’s casting on the show.
Portlandia stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. Season 3 is currently filming in Portland, Oregon and is expected to premiere January 2013 on IFC.
As previously reported, Chloë Sevigny made an appearance at the Free Pussy Riot Public Reading at the Ace Hotel in New York City yesterday, where fans and public figured gathered to show their support for Pussy Riot and the three members of the feminist punk band who are standing trial in Russia for an unauthorized protest at a Moscow church in February and could face as much as seven years in prison. Chloë was the picture of sophistication at the gathering in a white Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Resort 2012 leather dress with laser-cut eyelets. The first five images in our gallery!
Ms. Sevigny, in a white eyelet dress and flats, read a letter Ms. Alyokhina wrote long before the trial began, describing being cold and tired in detention. “It seems like it really won’t get any worse,” Ms. Sevigny-as-Ms. Alyokhina said, with feeling. Ms. Myles read a letter the group wrote to Prime Minister Dmitri A. Medvedev.
“There’s a Joan of Arc-type resonance,” she said afterward, “that they’re standing up to patriarchy. It’s poetry in and of itself.”
Update 2: All three of the accused members of the band — Maria Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Yekaterina Samutsevich — have today been sentenced to two years prison for “hooliganism” by a Russian court. Read more on BBC News.
