Chloë poses nude for Marc Jacobs’ “Protect the Skin You’re In”

The NUY Cancer Institute website reported back in May 2009 that renowned designer Marc Jacobs is reissuing in color some of his “Protect the Skin You’re In” campaign tees, in which notable celebrities and fashion icons pose nude. Chloë Sevigny poses nude on one of Jacobs’ tees, as do fellow celebrities Victoria Beckham, Milla Jovovich, Heidi Klum, Dita Von Teese and Doutzen Kroes. Marc Jacobs has reissued color versions of some of the most popular “Protect The Skin You’re In” celebrity nude T-shirts as part of an ongoing campaign to raise awareness about the deadly skin cancer and benefit melanoma research at the NYU Cancer Institute at NYU Langone Medical Center. The campaign, which features more than a dozen celebrities baring all for skin cancer, has already raised over $1 million for the NYU School of Medicine’s Interdisciplinary Melanoma Cooperative Group (IMCG).

“The public awareness generated by the T-shirt campaign is enormous, not to mention the funds that have been raised,” says Dr. William L. Carroll, director of the NYU Cancer Institute, who notes that proceeds of the sales of the T-shirts benefit IMCG. “We are grateful for the generosity of Marc Jacobs and Robert Duffy in allowing the NYU Cancer Institute to focus on research and advancing clinical care.”

The NYU Interdisciplinary Melanoma Cooperative Group (NYU-IMCG) is a multidisciplinary melanoma translational research program dedicated to advancing the care of melanoma patients through a coordinated approach combining basic science, translational research and clinical care. Its 23 investigators represent 11 departments at NYU Langone Medical Center. Since 2002, it has enrolled over one-thousand patients, who have donated blood and tumor tissues for research. NYU-IMCG is supported by the NYU Cancer Institute, NYU School of Medicine’s Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology, and the Marc Jacobs’ campaigns to support melanoma research.

Yesterday, September 20, the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards were held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, where the critically acclaimed HBO series Big Love was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, and Chloë Sevigny was there in support of the series, looking as amazing as ever in a white polka dot gown. The gallery has been updated with our first 62 medium-res photos of Chloë at the event — be sure to check back with us for additions!

Unfortunately, Big Love did not win the category it was nominated in. The award for Outstanding Drama Series went to Mad Men. Bummer.

Just a quick heads-up that Chloë Sevigny is currently in Los Angeles, CA filming scenes for the upcoming fourth season of the critically acclaimed HBO polygamist drama series, Big Love, also starring Bill Paxton, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jeanne Tripplehorn. Chloë was recently photographed on the set of the series in Nicolette “Nicki” Grant’s trademark attire. Yay!

The Apple trailers website has been updated with a HD trailer for M. Blash’s drama film Lying, starring Chloë Sevigny as Megan opposite Leelee Sobieski and Jena Malone. Although first screened at the Cannes Film Festival as far back as in 2006, the film is only now getting a U.S. theatrical release on September 10 2009. I just received my copy of Jonathan Liebesman’s psychological thriller, The Killing Room, starring Chloë Sevigny as Emily Riley opposite Peter Stormare, Timothy Hutton, Nick Cannon and Clea DuVall. According to Dazed Digital and Style.com, Chloë Sevigny will be channeling Miu Miu in a celebration of “The Decade in Style” in the upcoming Fall/Winter 2009 special collector’s edition of AnOther Magazine (UK), featuring model Kate Moss and actresses Natalie Portman, Katie Holmes and Vanessa Paradis on four respective covers of the issue. 28 designers who define the decade, 28 women who define style, from Carine Roitfeld to Kylie Minogue, brought together by AnOther Magazine for a special collectors’ edition to mark the end of the decade.

‘My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done’ at Venice Film Fest

As reported earlier, Werner Herzog’s reality-based drama My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done, starring Chloë Sevigny opposite Michael Shannon, Willem Dafoe and Grace Zabriskie, premiered today at the ongoing Venice Film Festival. A festival photocall for the film was also held today, which was attended by Shannon and Herzog as well as producer Giulia Marletta and screenwriter Herbert Golder.

The first photos from today’s premiere are beginning to surface online, none of which feature Chloë, however, and at this point it is unlikely Chloë is in Venice at all. What a shame! Shannon, Werner Herzog and his wife Lena as well as producer Marletta all attended the premiere red carpet.

Alia Raza short film at upcoming ASVO Fashion Film Festival

The New York Times blog The Moment reports Alia Raza’s short film Hypnotic Cascade 4, starring Chloë Sevigny, will screen at the upcoming A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival, a three-day event at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, France on September 25-27 2009. From The Moment:

This year’s ASVOFFF roster of short-film directors yields a diverse mix, from well-known talents like Chris Cunningham and Erwin Olaf to fashion photographers who appear to harbor their own silver-screen dreams like Steven Klein, Max Vadukul and Nick Knight. Chloe Sevigny, Roisin Murphy and Dita von Teese, among others, make star turns, and the jury features boldface names such as Rick Owens and Nan Goldin. The awards will include a Prix de Jury in the Reflection, Communication and Music Video categories, and Samsung, the festival’s sponsor, is awarding a 3,000-euro Grand Prize to the best new talent. We’re sad to learn, however, that Best Model as Actress is not yet a category. Maybe next year? With so much talent out there, it’s sure to be an audience favorite.
