Unbelievably, this is our fourth update of the day. As we reported earlier today, Chloë Sevigny was indeed at hand at today‘s 2009 Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic in New York, NY. Chloë looked as cute as a button at the event; personally, for whatever reason, this look really reminds me of some of the Agatha Christie classics from back in the day, and I love it!. Check out the first 19 medium-res photos of Chloë at the event at our gallery!

Thanks to the ever wonderful Andrew, the gallery has been updated with 8 amazing hi-res scans of Chloë Sevigny’s photo spread in the June 2009 issue of US Elle. Personally, I really love this feature all around; they’ve definitely made an effort with the page layout, and Chloë looks fantastic in the pictures, of course; the styling is one my favorites ever. More stunning magazine features! Chloë Sevigny is currently featured in the 18th issue of Italian “fashionart magazine”, Muse, in a gorgeous new shoot photographed by Tom Allen. Chloë is also featured on the “collector’s issue” cover. blackangel41999 was kind enough to put up some amazing hi-res scans over at The Fashion Spot; aren’t they amazing? “True Icon”; couldn’t be more true, that. This year’s mag features just keep getting better.

To those interested in purchasing the magazine, please note Chloë is only featured on the “collector’s cover”, so the issues you’ll find in the store are more likely to feature model Agnete Hegelund than Chloë. Also, although the magazine is originally Italian, Chloë’s article is also featured in English in addition to Italian, so non-Italian speaking fans may also have a read.

I sniff new public appearance media! Sky News reports Chloë Sevigny is one of many celebrities attending the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic, a charity polo match to be held on New York’s Governor Island today, May 30 2009. The proceeds will go to Prince Harry’s charity of choice, Sentebale. From Sky News:

Prince Harry is set to take part in a star-studded charity polo match today on New York’s Governor’s Island. The proceeds from the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic will go to his charity Sentebale which supports orphans in the African kingdom of Lesotho. He will be joined at the event by a host of stars including rapper Kanye West and actresses Kate Hudson and Chloë Sevigny.

New pictures! To begin with a previously unknown appearance, on May 21 2009 Chloë Sevigny was spotted at the ‘Skins & Punks’ Gavin Watson Exhibition at the Vice Gallery in Milan, Italy, of which two medium-res photos have been added to the gallery. I’m doubtful as to the availability of additional photos, but as always, I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

On another note, while we await hi-res scans of Chloë’s photo spread in the June 2009 issue of Elle (US), on newsstands now, the gallery has been updated with 12 fantastic behind the scenes-photos from the shoot, courtesy of SuperFantasticPictureTime.com. Isn’t she just stunning?

It’s that time of the year again, I guess, when predictions regarding Emmy nominees and winners begin surfacing online. Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly has picked his favorite nominees for Best Supporting Actress (Drama) — guess who he’d like to see nominated?:

Chloë Sevigny (Big Love): The sneakier her character got, the more I wanted to give her a hug. Oh, and an Emmy!

Ausiello also recommends Chloë’s Big Love co-star Ginnifer Goodwin for an Emmy nomination.

Now, seriously, people… Chloë’s portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant has “Emmy-worthy” written all over it. I’m just sayin’.

More amazing magazine features! Gosh, I’ve missed them. Chloë Sevigny is currently featured in an “80′s supermodel style” photoshoot in the June 2009 issue of US Elle, featuring actress Megan Fox on the cover. As with Chloë’s Elle (UK) shoot from last year, even this one was photographed by Matthias Vriens.

We’ll of course be providing you with hi-res scans as soon as this issue becomes available to us. Meanwhile, the gallery has been updated with eight medium-res outtakes from the shoot — needless to say, Chloë looks stunning. From Elle.com:

Chloë Sevigny may spend a lot of time in dowdy ankle-length skirts and matronly blouses for her role as sister-wife Nicki Grant in HBO’s Big Love, but her offscreen flair for mixing downtown cool with Hollywood glam has made her an icon of edgy, DIY style. An intrepid thrift-store addict and eBay habitué, Sevigny firmly believes that being fashionable doesn’t have to break the bank: “It’s not what you spend but how you wear it that counts,” she says. “The key is often to dress up inexpensive basics with accessories. Something like a beautiful designer bag or belt can make everything else look richer and more luxurious.” For Sevigny, who has a penchant for rocking ultrashort dresses on the red carpet (“I think my legs are a strong point, so I try to draw attention to them rather than the upper part of my body”), those investment pieces can usually be found on her feet. “I definitely spend the most money on shoes,” she admits. “Partly because vintage footwear can be a little funky—in a bad way. I like to keep things pretty simple up top and then go weird with the shoes.” Currently, she’s snapping up pointy-toe boots to pair with high-waisted jeans and statement blazers. “I’m single, so I’m trying to do an overall overhaul,” she says with a laugh. “The look I’m going for is very ’80s supermodel. It’s time to be sexy.”

Chloë Sevigny is currently on the cover of The Sunday Times’ Style (UK) May 17 2009 issue, y’all! You’ll recognize the cover shot from Chloë’s last year’s Doingbird shoot. The article (sans photos) is also available for viewing at TimesOnline.co.uk — below’s an excerpt:

I ask her to “take me through her outfit” (you’re allowed to do that sort of thing, you know, at a grand fashion parade like this). Well…” she says in mock Dolly Parton, “I’m wearing… a top from my new line! It’s silk and has a pocket here if a girl wants to wear it with no bra! And I’m wearing some vintage Claude Montana leather shorts I got in Rellik the other day, and some buckled wedges from my new line, which also come in suede, which is very nice.”

On this decade’s crop of ingénues — Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Lady GaGa et al — with their grasping need for the limelight, today’s get-up would look positively desperate. On Sevigny, it comes off as the essence of a modern fashion statement. We sit having a tea in the corner, away from everyone. “I’d never want to become famous now,” she says. “I feel like there’s a real cockiness with young people today. Maybe it’s protective, a shell. But the new celeb daughters and sons, the pop stars, are wise beyond their years. “And,” she adds, “that really irritates me.”

Well, this sure came earlier than I expected! Although the film is not expected to premiere until 2010, QuietEarth.us and the Independent Film Company website have already published the first promotional stills of Chloë Sevigny et al. in the upcoming Bernard Rose-directed Howard Marks-biopic, Mr. Nice. Some smaller movie-related updates today. To begin with the main topic of today’s post, Variety reports Unified Pictures will be taking Werner Herzog’s upcoming horror film, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done to Cannes for a first look. From Variety:

Unified will use Cannes Market to show footage of Werner Herzog’s thriller My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done, with Chloë Sevigny and Michael Shannon. It’ll be the first time buyers get a look.

On another note, ContactMusic cites Chloë Sevigny (presumably) at the 2009 Coachella Music Festival in May:

Actress Chloë Sevigny wants to become the next big female action star, insisting she’s fitter than most people think she is. The Boys Don’t Cry star has made a name for herself in a series of gritty low-budget indie movies, but now she’s keen to be the next Angelina Jolie.

She says, “I would love to do an action movie. I’m actually very physically fit. I don’t think people think of me that way.” [...] “I read a lot of those scripts and audition, but I think I am just not a big enough name – it’s all about figures and what your movies have accumulated and I’ve never been in a movie that made money.”
