We’re back, y’all! Apologies for the delay in updates, but our technical difficulties have at last been resolved, and regular updates will now resume. Without further ado, here’s today’s update…

… consisting of some new Chloë Sevigny public appearance media. Kicking things off with photos, the gallery has been updated with a handful of great medium-res additions of Chloë’s recent appearances at the ‘Big Love’ Beverly Hills Press Conference on Apr 21 and the Chloé Los Angeles Boutique Opening Party on Apr 23 respectively. There are some particularly good shots of Chloë among the press conference ones, so I highly recommend checking them out!

Video clip-wise, the media archive has been updated with three site-exclusive video clips of Chloë attending the aforementioned Chloé Boutique Opening Party; two red-carpet clips and one red carpet interview, all of which are definitely worth a look. Stay tuned for California Style scans, coming soon!

We did promise you photos, didn’t we? I distinctly remember promising you some photos this weekend. In addition to Chloë’s recent PaleyFest09 ‘Big Love’ Presentation and Chloé Los Angeles Boutique Opening Party appearances, last Tuesday, April 21 2009 Chloë Sevigny furthermore attended the ‘Big Love’ Series Press Conference in Beverly Hills, CA. The gallery has been updated with a total of 157 photos from all three events — expect many more medium- and hi-res additions once our technical difficulties are resolved!

Yay, Chloë’s certainly been busy this week! Personally, out of these three looks, I’m particularly loving the cute press conference look (with the awesome sunnies only Chloë could pull off) and the hot Chloé boutique outfit. (And wow, did my computer pick the most inconvenient time to die on me or what?)

Update: The gallery has been updated with photos from another event, namely the Secret “Free The Beatrice” Party from April 10 2009 we reported of earlier this month + another batch of medium- and hi-res photos of all aforementioned events, bringing the total count up to 311. Enjoy!

As we reported earlier this month, yesterday, April 23 2009 Chloë Sevigny did indeed attend the Chloé boutique opening party in Los Angeles, CA. As said, we’re still experiencing some technical difficulties, which has made updates, media ones in particular, rather difficult, however stay tuned for photos from all of Chloë’s recent events this weekend! Promise!

Just a quick heads-up to y’all that site updates here at Chloë Sevigny Online will in all likelihood be delayed until further notice due to technical complications at our end. We’re doing our best to patch things up, but until then updating, particularly with new media, will be difficult, as will reading and responding to new emails. We’ll of course be doing our best to keep you updated, particularly with any major news on Chloë should such surface, however don’t be surprised if we’re not quite as up to speed as usual. Hopefully, we’ll be back in full force within the coming few weeks! Apologies for the inconvenience. Viva la computer technology!

Chloë doesn’t disappoint! As we reported earlier, Chloë Sevigny did indeed host Kiehl’s New York Flagship Store Celebration with the Doe Fund in New York, NY yesterday, April 9 2009, and we now have first photos of Chloë at the event, looking effortlessly stylish in a black mini and dark blue navy jacket, the former of which is à la Opening Ceremony (Allure.com). The gallery has been updated with our first 29 medium- and hi-res photos from the event, some thanks to the good people at The Fashion Spot. As always, we’ll be keeping an eye out for more.

Furthermore, MyFOXNY has a video clip from the event, with a very cute interview segment in which Chloë and the reporter remark upon the great music being played (Chloë’s brother, Paul Sevigny was the DJ of the evening). The clip will soon be added to our media archive for download, but in the mean time check it out at MyFOXNY.com! Report from Allure.com:

Last night we went to Kiehl’s’ celebration of their refurbished East Village flagship store, which they wisely renovated to more closely resemble its original apothecary feel. Chloë Sevigny, a longtime Kiehl’s devotee and downtown poster girl, was on hand to host, wearing a black Opening Ceremony mini-dress (natch) and totally inspiring for spring electric pink lipstick. (Also, her cute brother Paul DJ’d the event.) Sevigny dished to us that the brand’s Rosewater Facial Toner was the first Kiehl’s product she ever used—”I loved the pretty rose petals floating in the bottle,”—and that her current obsessions are the Creme de Corps body lotion, Lavender Foaming Relaxing Bath with Sea Salts and Aloe Vera, and Dermatologist Solutions Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate, which she swears really works (and we believe her—her skin is ridiculously glowing).

The other reason for the party: In addition to launching a new collection of grooming tools, totes, and t-shirts that will be available exclusively at that store, the company donated $10,000 to the The Doe Fund‘s Ready, Willing and Able program, which helps formerly homeless or incarcerated people learn vocational skills and become active members of their communities.

Observer.com reports, Chloë Sevigny hosted a celebration at the Kiehl’s store on Third Avenue in New York, NY yesterday, April 9 2009. Chloë’s DJ brother Paul Sevigny was also present at the event, and according to the source, both will be attending the secret “Free the Beatrice” party tomorrow, April 10 2009, to support Paul’s Beatrice Inn bar. No photos from the event have surfaced online as of yet, but keep your eyes peeled for them. From Observer.com:

The actress Chloë Sevigny arrived at the longstanding Kiehl’s store at 109 Third Avenue on Thursday, April 9, in petal pink lipstick and a black mini dress with eyelets along the side, exposing little circles of fair skin. Ms. Sevigny, 34, who lives just three blocks away, was asked to host the celebration of Kiehl’s 158-year-old history with the unveiling of a few renovations (mostly small) at the flagship store to make it look even closer to the way it did in 1851, when it first opened as the neighborhood apothecary.

“If Kiehl’s were a woman, she’d be Chloë!” the president of Kiehl’s, Chris Selgardo, declared to the Daily Transom. Mr. Selgardo, a bulky, muscular man with a thick black beard, was dressed casually in jeans, a muscle shirt and pin-striped blazer. “We love Chloë. Someone like Chloë, she’s just so East Village.”

[...] “Hey Lexi!” Ms. Sevigny was saying to a young attractive blonde nearby, before turning to the Daily Transom and explaining, “That was my cousin.” (Her brother, Paul Sevigny, was also present as the DJ for the event.) “I’ve been using their products for years and you know they are always very…very…uh, generous!” she finally conceded.

How does she think the neighborhood has changed? “Oh you know, it’s bank, nail salon, bank, nail salon, bank, nail salon,” she replied. “The Subway across the street from Veselka, it’s just an eyesore. The bigger chains coming in everywhere, it’s depressing. You know what really bugs me about the neighborhood, actually? The students! The NYU kids and they’ve opened an SVA dorm near my house, so now it’s even more.” (Ms. Sevigny said that if she decided to retreat from the neighborhood, she would go back to Gramercy Park where she lived for ten years.)

On the topic of her brother’s embattled bar, the Beatrice Inn, which was recently shut down by the city’s Buildings Department, Ms. Sevigny was coy. Still, she said she will be in attendance at the secret “Free the Beatrice” party set to take place on Friday night, April 10, at an undisclosed location. “I think I will be there. I have to support it, it’s my brother’s bar!” she said. “I’ve been out of the country for 3 months, but I was there regularly of course before that.” Will the Beatrice persevere? “I hope so,” she said. “Unless, of course, the community board or something….” But where would everyone go? “I don’t know!” she said. “I don’t go anywhere else!”

Some time back we reported of Chloë Sevigny being interviewed for the current, April 2009 issue of US magazine, Interview, regarding her latest collection for Opening Ceremony. The interview is now available online at InterviewMagazine.com — check it out! From InterviewMagazine.com:

BOLLEN: If you haven’t noticed, I really like the sweater leggings.
SEVIGNY: The Fair Isle–like leggings? Yeah, I think my main inspiration was gay lumberjack. That was the jumping off point. Because I know a lot of boys who dress kind of lumberjacky but they also look a little gay at the same time. So I wanted something kind of urban and outdoorsy.

BOLLEN: I wonder if older gay bears are mad that young bisexual twentysomethings stole their pickup look?
SEVIGNY: I think it’s a sexy look. So I would say overall it’s more of a ’90s influence. Preppy, but worn in a punk manner. There were these hip-hop kids in the ’90s called the Polo Kids who wore Polo Ralph Lauren, but in a really street way.

BOLLEN: In general, what guys do you get fashion inspiration from?
SEVIGNY: Nick Cave. But he’s tall and slim so everything looks good on him. Definitely Dave Gahan. But then there are people in my life like Joe DeNardo from the band Growing, Ben Cho, who always looks great, and my friend M. Blash . . . Maybe also Q-Tip circa 1992.

Sign on San Diego has an interesting report from the San Diego, CA-set of Werner Herzog’s upcoming drama film, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done, starring Michael Shannon opposite Willem Dafoe, Grace Zabriskie and, of course, Chloë Sevigny. Chloë is only fleetingly mentioned, but those interested in the film might want to check out the article anyway, as it features some interesting comments from Herzog and the cast as well as some first photos from the set (sans Chloë). From SignonSanDiego.com:

The production created fervor among those in the neighborhood, folks ducking under the yellow police tape roping off Zola Street near Willow to peer from a distance at the activity, spotting over a couple of weeks actors such as Willem Dafoe and Chloë Sevigny. “Usually, the biggest excitement around here is the spillover from Rock Church parking,” said Prudence Horne, a painter, whose home is up the street. She was hanging out the other day near the action undisturbed.

Producer Eric Bassett, a partner in Lynch’s production company, said there were plans to shoot in Coronado: “They made it difficult for us, their whole board. We ended up saving money moving to San Diego (the film’s budget is under $10 million).” It’s scheduled for release in June.
