“Maybe something awful happened to his parts back then. I mean, maybe Margie broke him.”
- Nicolette “Nicki” Grant

I hope everyone was able to tune in to last Sunday’s episode of HBO’s polygamist drama series, Big Love, in which Chloë Sevigny stars as Bill Henrickson’s second wife Nicolette “Nicki” Grant opposite Bill Paxton, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Ginnifer Goodwin. Here’s our recap of episode 3.02 “Empire”, please highlight to read:

Nicki’s apparent fertility problems is the talk of the day in the Henrickson household, and Barb and Margie force Nicki to see a gynecologist about it; the wives and Bill are unaware of the fact that Nicki is actually on the pill for fear of losing her marriage to children, the way she feels her mother did. Margie’s straightforwardness comes close to blowing the Weber Gaming deal with the Indians, but the deal is still on, at least for the time being. Barb is relieved to hear that the findings of her previous visit to the doctor’s are, in fact, not cancer. Sarah breaks up with her boyfriend. Bill’s parents confront one another violently, while Nicki’s father Roman Grant delivers a serious threat to Bill which he swears to realize if he does not help Roman find the remaining witnesses, who could otherwise become his undoing. The Henrickson family go out on several uncomfortable dates with the potential fourth wife, Ana.

What a fantastic episode! As always, Chloë was phenomenal as Nicki; I love the way she smiles sometimes. The gallery has been updated with 630 medium-res screen captures of Chloë’s performance; video clips will be added with the relaunch of the site (and media archive).

Don’t forget to tune in again this upcoming Sunday, February 1 2009, for Big Love episode 3.03 “Prom Queen”, at 9 PM on HBO. As always, we’ll do our best to cover it!

For starters, a friendly reminder to one and all that Big Love episode 3.02 “Empire” is on tonight, January 25 2009 in the United States at 9 PM on HBO. The HBO polygamist drama series stars Bill Paxton, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ginnifer Goodwin, and of course, Chloë Sevigny as second wife Nicolette “Nicki” Grant. As always, stay tuned for coverage!

On another note, the gallery (which has received a lot of new additions of late) has been updated with 12 stunning hi-res outtakes of Chloë’s Elle (UK) March 2008 photoshoot. None of the outtakes are new per se, but this is the first time we see them all in this quality. Enjoy!

Some time around last year’s gallery move, I’m sure some of you will have noticed how 95% of our 2006 public appearance photos of Chloë vanished magically into thin air. I didn’t notice this myself until it was much too late to try and restore them, and thus this portion of the gallery has stood empty for some time.

That’s about to change, however, as I have spent the last few days re-collecting all available Chloë Sevigny 2006 footage for the site, and more than 1,300 medium- and hi-res photos from said year have been (re)uploaded to the gallery. This was really something I wanted to do before a site relaunch, because my losing them really bothered me on a personal level; what a relief this is for me! As always, I hope you enjoy the new photos!

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Chloë Sevigny will debut a menswear line in Paris, France sometime soon, before filming for Mr. Nice begins in Wales, UK. The article furthermore reported Chloë was spotted at the Milan Menswear Autumn/Winter 2009 Diesel Planet Opening Party in Milan, Italy on January 20 2009; the first seven medium-res photos of a stunning Chloë at the event have been added to the gallery. From WWD.com:

Chloë Sevigny joined Renzo Rosso for the opening of his largest Diesel Planet store to date on Tuesday night, as men’s fashion week in Milan wound down. “I welled up while watching [President Barack Obama’s] inauguration from my hotel room,” said Sevigny. The actress and style maven said she’s heading to Paris next to showcase her new men’s-unisex line. “It’s skinny, chain-y, stud-y,” she enthused. Sevigny’s tour of Europe doesn’t stop in France and moves on to Wales to film Mr. Nice, in which she will play the wife of famed smuggler Howard Marks. “I am really nervous about my English accent,” she confessed.

Wonder who she’s doing the menswear line with. Opening Ceremony, perhaps?

“Our way of life is under attack. Don’t you watch the news?”
- Nicolette “Nicki” Grant

Hopefully everyone tuned in last Sunday to the exciting Season 3 premiere of HBO’s critically acclaimed polygamist drama series, Big Love, on which Chloë Sevigny stars as the manipulative second wife Nicolette “Nicki” Grant opposite Bill Paxton, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Ginnifer Goodwin. Here’s our brief episode recap; for the sake of our spoiler-phobic international visitors, the text has been hidden from view, so please highlight to read:

With a block party looming ahead, one worrying sign after another has the Henrickson family worrying that a rumor of their secret polygamist life is spreading and being spread around the local community. Barb is struggling to come to terms with the news of her renewed cancer, and pushes for a fourth wife for Bill alongside Margene, unaware of Barb’s cancer scare. Bill, eager to include a fourth wife to their family, courts a reluctant but ultimately interested Ana, much to the dismay of Nicki, not to mention Barb’s daughter, Sarah, who longs for a way out of Utah. Bill and Margene negotiate with the Indians in the interest of expanding Weber Gaming. Nicki takes a job at a law firm, seemingly to pay off her credit card debt, but is really using all available means to help her father Roman out of prison. Furthermore, Roman’s public trial process excludes Nicki, as his daughter, from the community, and she is forced to deal with increasingly hostile attitudes towards her, and thus refuses to participate in the block party. Meanwhile Alby, now having assumed Roman’s position of power, accuses Nicki and Bill of conspiring against him, much to Nicki’s surprise. Tensions run high at the party, and in the heat of passion the Henricksons come to risk exposing their polygamist ways to the entire community.

What a great episode this was, and Chloë was fantastic as Nicki, as always. I’m so happy we got a glimpse of Nicki’s more sensitive side in this episode; them moments are few and far between. Check out the medium-res screen captures of Nicki’s performance at our gallery; video clips will be made available with the relaunch of the full site.

Don’t forget to tune in again next Sunday, January 25 2009 for Big Love episode 3.02 “Empire”, which airs at 9 PM on HBO. Check out the episode trailer (“Next on ‘Big Love”) at HBO.com, and as always, stay tuned to us for coverage!

I’ve just updated the gallery with more than 1900 site-exclusive DVD screen captures of Chloë Sevigny as Grace Collier in Douglas Buck’s psychological thriller, Sisters (2006), co-starring Lou Doillon and Stephen Rhea. The new material includes movie-, interview-, deleted scenes- and behind the scenes screen captures of Chloë’s performance and her involvement in the production of the film. Enjoy!

Personally, I’m not sure I fully understood all that happened in Sisters, but then that may very well have been the filmmakers’ purpose. Chloë, however, delivers an excellent performance, and quite possibly the film’s best. As a horror/thriller it’s also quite interesting and a touch unusual, and thus worth a look if you can stomach a little blood.

As most of you will already know, Jonathan Liebesman’s psychological thriller The Killing Room, in which Chloë stars as behavioral analysis expert Emily Reilly opposite Peter Stormare, Nick Cannon, Timothy Hutton and Clea DuVall, premiered yesterday at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT. The first reviews are already trickling in online, and they are coming in rather mixed, albeit generally favorable.

While the most notably negative review came from Variety, it is also thus far the only film site to have expressed outright disdain for the film, whereas other sources have remained positive on the film and it’s potential as a commercial success. HitFlix also mentions Chloë’s performance, of which they remained appreciative, if not excited. Check out some excerpts from posted reviews below:

From HitFlix.com:

The Killing Room doesn’t leaven the punches with anything like a light moment, it’s tougher going. The acting is solid from everyone, with Hutton proving to be the real stand-out. It’s nice to see Sevigny playing a lead, and she’s absolutley up for the challenge. She’s the one who is supposedly the audience’s sympathetic entry point, so several of the choices she makes really push the audience. What would you do? Would you make the choices she does? And even if you wouldn’t, can you understand why she does?

Ahoy, y’all! Jonathan Liebesman’s psychological thriller The Killing Room, in which Chloë Sevigny stars as military psychologist Ms. Reilly opposite Nick Cannon, Peter Stormare, Timothy Hutton, Shea Whigham and Clea DuVall, premieres today at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT. Photos from the premiere are beginning to trickle in online — fingers crossed Chloë is attending the event!

Update: So far, Nick Cannon, Jonathan Liebesman and Shea Whigham have been spotted and photographed at the event, however as of yet, no sign of Chloë.

Update Jan 17: Unfortunately, judging by the unavailability of photos it would seem Chloë did not attend this event. What a shame!
