American actress and fashion icon Chloë Sevigny is one of Hollywood’s most gifted acting talents. Known for her many indie film roles, Sevigny has garnered much critical acclaim since her 1995 debut, including Academy Award- and Golden Globe-nominations for her performance in Boys Don’t Cry. Sevigny is also revered for her offbeat sense of style, and has recently designed collections for hip New York label Opening Ceremony.

Surprisingly (not to mention disappointingly), if the table of contents is anything to go by then Chloë Sevigny’s brilliant style column “Ask Chloë” (or “Ask Chloe”, rather) is not featured in the newest, December 2008 issue of UK fashion mag Elle, featuring actress Kate Beckinsale on the cover. Whatever happened, we don’t know. Yet. Damn you, Elle!

4 Responses to “No “Ask Chloë” column in Dec 2008 ‘Elle’ (UK)”

  1. Tara Says:

I’m happy and sad to learn that. Happy that I won’t spend my $12.00 CAD on horrible Elle mag just for 2 pages, sad that… you know. lol.

  2. Tara Says:

I finally had an authentic question in mind, and was ready to post it, and found out the link no longer works. Elle UK disabled the link and the column seems to be gone, FOREVER…. DAMN YOU, ELLE UK… DAMMIT!

I thought it was just temporary yesterday, but now it looks like an end of an era…

  3. Sandra Says:

Oh, darnit, Tara, that’s awful! The online feature no longer works for me, either. It did only a week ago or so, but now it’s beginning to look as if the column is gone for good. I really enjoyed it. :( Oh well… I guess I can now go back to buying issues of Nylon instead for my monthly fashion fix.

  4. Tara Says:

I just found out I had even more questions to ask yesterday. I probably will write an e-mail to the given address and ask if their contract is completely terminated or not. I too enjoyed reading the columns, some questions were a bit too obvious, but there were a lot of my favourite answers that showed a very unique way of thinking.

Sandra, do you buy Nylon just for your own reading leisure or there’s anything special about it? I don’t buy or subscribe mags. I only collect some of the ones feature my fav. celebs. For my leisure read, I only read Scientific Mind, Advocate and sometimes Times or some film related journals. However, I own a massive amount of Elle France, Studio, Vanity Fair, Vogue and InStyle. But among the fashion mags, I think I’d rather read Glamour page by page.
