Some of you will remember how we reported earlier that Chloë was recently photographed for an unknown Uniqlo advertisement campaign. The people at Women’s Wear Daily now seem to have posted an update regarding this, as they report Chloë appears in Uniqlo’s women’s ad campaign for their UT Project (UT=Uniqlo T-shirt). From WWD.com:
Uniqlo’s ongoing UT Project (UT stands for Uniqlo T-shirt) features designs created by artists, designers, musicians and photographers. More than 1,000 different designs exist and new ones are added each season. For the next installment, bowing in April, Uniqlo tapped the art of Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, two artists who died tragically young. Uniqlo is reproducing their art under a licensing agreement with the artists’ estates. There will be about a dozen different designs from each, with prices starting at $15.50. Markus Kiersztan, creative director at MP Creative, Uniqlo’s marketing and advertising company, chose Chloë Sevigny to appear in the women’s ad campaign for UT Project, and Tadanobu Asano, a young Japanese film star, for the men’s. The two also were photographed together in ads, which will be used in wildpostings, a type of viral guerrilla-style image campaign, as well as full pages in several magazines. The company is recording its T-shirt designs for a cultural data base and also has asked artists worldwide to submit designs for possible T-shirts.
The article came with a small preview of the ad campaign; click on the attached preview to see it in full. Hopefully more outtakes from this shoot will surface online soon! We’ll keep you posted.
