More project news for Chloë! This is, admittedly, a bit of a leap of a rumor, but I thought I’d post it anyway. :) CinemaBlend reports that Chloë Sevigny and Rachel Weisz are contesting for the female lead in an upcoming sequel in the hugely successful Terminator franchise. According to the film’s IMDb page, Edward Furlong of Terminator 2: Judgement Day is rumored to have been cast to reprise the role of John Connor in the upcoming sequel, and the film is set for a 2009 U.S. release.
As Claire Danes is reportedly not returning to the role of Kate Brewster – Connor’s wife-to-be – in the upcoming sequel, it is uncertain whether Chloë and Weisz are contesting for her role or the role of another female terminator (along the lines of Kristanna Loken in T3). From IMDb.com:
After the drastic effects of Terminator 3, the story continues as John Connor and soon to be wife Kate Brewster realize they must create a resistance organization with Earth’s remaining survivors against the army of robots slowly being built up by Skynet. As they are building this resistance, one survivor happens to be a traitor in disguise, and has a secret that nobody would ever come to suspect.
I’ll keep you posted!
